Dominican Republic

Think living in your bathing suit. Think piña coladas (with extra whipped cream, of course). Think sun-kissed skin and crystal clear waves. Dominican Republic was exactly what I needed this summer.

Good time spent with family and friends, plus all you can eat food all week long? Can’t beat it.

Spending time in at Punta Cana Majestic Colonial resort was different than my usual travels. Usually, I stick to Airbnb’s or crash at a friends house (thanks guys). I prefer being where the locals are. Although this vacay was a different vibe than what I’m used to, it was a much-needed trip.

Staying at a resort is a much more relaxing vacation. Opposed to other vacations?? Haha, but I mean everything is inclusive, which makes it for a pretty simple itinerary with all you want in one location.

One of my favorite spots at the resort was at the adults-only cabana section. Sitting there, I sat in complete quiet and soaked in thankfulness. Thankful for being on vacation with so many of my family members. Thanking God for moments like this that will forever be remembered.

Something else I am thankful for is my partnership with Gypset!  How flipping cute is this Geometric Aura Druzy cuff bracelet?! I’m also wearing the Trip Around the Sun statement necklace with a dendritic opal gemstone. Gypset is currently my favorite handcrafted jewelry line. It’s so perfect to go along with your summer outfits.

Gypest has a special code they want to share with you: use KATHLEEN for 20 percent off 50$ or more.

Just outside my room door, was this big patio with a hot tub and this cute view.

Here I am wearing the It’s Raining Moonstone earrings and the Goddess of Athens multi-layer Moonstone necklace which both went great with the casual boho look I was going for.

We also went on an excursion one day called Side by Side Adventure where we were able to ride buggies! Then later took a nice boat ride to the middle of the ocean. Oh and ended up on this beautiful beach where they fed us, so I was happy.  I highly recommend it!

Back at the resort, I found myself here again. The rest of the trip was honestly lounging, eating (a lot), reading and swimming in the ocean. What more could you ask for?

  3. Wow! The Dominican looks beautiful, I’m definitely jealous. I’ve officially added this island to my bucket list! Your pictures are absolutely stunning.

Also, I love how fashionable you are and the tips and resources on where to find stylish clothes. Any chance you can help a guy out with upgrading his wardrobe?

I look forward to your next article!

  4. The Dominican Republic looks beautiful and I totally love the idea of a bed on the beach 🙂 I might fall asleep reading a book or just listening to the waves!

  5. I would love to go to the Dominican! The pictures look beautiful! I’m the same…I love Airbnb BUT anything all inclusive once in a while is a must – so relaxing! P.S. Love the Bible verse. XO

  6. Staying in a resort has its own perks. If I’m traveling with my family, I prefer checking-in in a resort. But if I’m traveling alone or with friends, like you, I prefer staying where the locals are. By the way, I really love your photos!

  7. Punts Cana is definitely on my list of places to travel. I’ve had friends visit before and talk about how beautiful it is. I think I would feel more comfortable at a resort there just because my friend from the DR talks about how dangerous it is and that it’s better to know a local if you’re not going to go the resort route. Thanks for sharing!

  8. This vacay looks like a DREAM! I went on my first all-inclusive just last year and definitely agree it’s a little different than staying with the locals (!) Also… going to use your discount code RIGHT. NOW. that jewellery is fineee

  9. OMG, I am so in need of a vacation and your post just sealed the deal. Your pictures are beautiful and now I can not wait to visit the DR.There is a cabana in the adults only section with my name on it. Thank you so much for sharing.

  10. My parents are both dominican, and so I have gone there multiple times. I actually just got back from there earlier this month! Like you said, when I typically go, I stay with family, but I have to say the resorts in Punta Cana are beyond beautiful. I’m so glad you enjoyed your trip visiting the country 🙂 Great post, you look stunning in every shot xxx
